Dribbble – Showcase of Creative Design Work
History: Started in 2009 as a side project for Dan Cederholm and Rich Thornett. It began as a simple site for designers to share small screenshots (“shots”) of their in-progress work.
Functionality: Primarily a social network and self-promotion platform for designers, especially in digital UI/UX, illustration, and branding. The constrained, square format emphasizes compelling visuals. It’s a major recruiting ground for companies seeking design talent.
Future Plans: Expanding its job board services, building more community engagement features, and potentially adding more tools for designers to sell assets directly.
