WindowSwap – View from Others’ Windows
History: Launched in 2020 by a couple in Singapore during the COVID-19 pandemic, WindowSwap was created to help people experience the world and combat feelings of isolation and lockdown fatigue. It quickly became a viral sensation.
Functionality: The website allows users to anonymously submit 10-minute high-definition videos filmed from their windows. Visitors are presented with a random window view from somewhere in the world, complete with ambient sounds. It serves as a simple, meditative form of virtual travel and connection.
Future Plans: The project relies on user submissions to grow its library. Future viability depends on continued community engagement to add new windows and perspectives.
